For most, perfection is an unattainable goal.
For Steve Northway, it's a daily expectation.

This inner drive started for Steve at age 7 when he asked his mother for a gun. The response was "no." However, this didn't stop young Steve. At age 10 he joined a rifle club, and by age 12 he was the top shooter. After high school, Steve walked on to the West Virginia University rifle team five days before spring semester began and was awarded a full scholarship for his marksmanship. His WV Mountaineers team went on to win a national rifle championship.

Steve's passion, focus and pursuit of excellence hasn't changed through the years, in fact, it's intensified. In 1978 Steve co-founded what is now considered one of Minnesota’s most respected construction companies.

But that wasn't enough.

In 2003 Steve transitioned from the construction industry, pursuing his passion for building science. He led Building Knowledge, Inc (BKI) as CEO. During his leadership, BKI was chosen by the U.S. Green Building Council to develop the national LEED for homes program, which the USGBC still follows today.

But something was missing.

In 2006, Steve was presented with the opportunity to develop a construction company that kept the best interest of their employees forefront; found innovative ways to protect the environment; was passionate about revolutionizing the construction industry, and placed the voice and needs of the customer first. Every day.

Northway Construction was born, and the timing was perfectly on the mark.
