Every business needs a backbone, someone who consistently raises the bar. Meet Northway Construction’s backbone, Ms. Wendy Jones.

Living life to a higher standard has been part of Wendy’s perspective from the beginning. Taking four years to receive a collegiate degree felt like a waste of time, so she accomplished it in three.

The construction industry is a historically male-dominated field. Wendy saw this as an opportunity. She left a secure, high paying job to join Northway Construction in the very beginning, when it was just two guys with big dreams sharing a one-room office. Wendy believed the Northway dream whole-heartedly from the start, leaving her comfort zone to enter an industry she knew nothing about.

She spent her very first day unpacking furniture in a skirt and high heels — not to mention pregnant.

These days, Wendy is often found proudly wearing a pink hard hat to job sites, and loving every minute of it. She enjoys pressure, even better, she likes making tough decisions under pressure. It’s this skill and these talents that aid her as she sets a high bar at Northway Construction, despite the fact that she stands a diminutive but confident 5’0”.
